I arrived in Wuhan about 10 am and Ki Lin and Jason from AIESEC were waiting in the airport with a sign for me. I was so tired, but we had to wait for two other interns for another two hours. We sat in the airport and got acquainted, asking questions about each other. When the last intern finally arrived we all got into a cab and headed for our apartment…well, not exactly. Our apartment was not ready because it is in a new development, so we are staying in the AIESEC apartment until it is ready. The AIESEC apartment is cool, it has three bedrooms and it is four interns living in the apartment. After settling in we went to have lunch at a Chinese restaurant. We ate Chinese style—ordering several dishes and everyone eating from the dishes. Surprisingly I tried all of the dishes. Most of the food was spicy, which is kind of new for me because I don’t like spicy food. But, apparently in Wuhan most of the dishes are spicy so I have to get used to it. After that they showed us around their campus and took us to the supermarket. We got a couple of recognizable items, mosquito repellent and headed back to the apartment. I talked with ZOZ, one of the AIESEC student nominees (like a volunteer). We talked about his studies and what he planned to do after college and I played some Beyonce for him and showed him some pictures of me, my family and people in NABA. We were all exhausted so we went to bed like 9pm to get ready for our first day at the New Oriental School.
