Steak and Eggs in China

Sunday, June 17, 2007
Today we spent the day with our AIESEC hosts. The day started with a presentation by AIESEC Wuhan. They showed us a video of Wuhan and its many sites. Each segment was ended by a question about a part of the presentation and the first person to answer the question correctly won a prize. After the presentation we all went to lunch. It was at a restaurant on campus. When the food came out, I was surprised because it was steak with eggs, broccoli, carrots and some sort of spaghetti. I guess this was supposed to be a western meal. It was delicious and the steak had a little bit of Wuhan flavor because it had a spicy sauce. When lunch was over we split up into teams and we had to go to five sites on campus and take goofy pictures at the sites. We also had to work on a roll call (it’s an AIESEC thing) by the start of the party that evening. After taking our pictures we settled down in an area on campus to work on our roll call. We decided on a military theme and put in twinkle, twinkle little star in Chinese and English. We also worked on a dance to do at the end. I taught ZOZ and Alan some steps and we worked on them until the heat overcame us. We had some time before the party so we decided to go back to our apartment to take showers. We spent a little too much time taking showers and arrived at dinner late and did not get to sit with the rest of the group. It was ok though because our meal ended up being cheaper than theirs. ZOZ ordered chicken for me because he knows that I like chicken. After dinner we walked over to where the party was held. At the party we met more AIESEC Wuhan people and we played games and danced. We also had a modeling show, which they called a “T” show and Ki Lin was my partner. After the show I showed them two dances from New York, the ‘chicken noodle soup’ and the “tone wop.”
